PUNTA DE MAISÍ LIGHTHOUSE
Known as “La Concha” due to its original name, it is located north of Ensenada la Hembra. The Maisí lighthouse is the easternmost building on the largest island in the Caribbean. Its construction dates back to 1857 by the Spanish government.
From your balcony you can enjoy unbeatable views. Even on clear days you will have the opportunity to see Haiti, located 77 kilometers from Punta de Maisí. In addition, you can enjoy a relaxing swim on the beach with clear waters and white sands.
The lighthouse with a height from the base of 33 meters to the lantern, and 4 more above sea level, illuminated for the first time on November 19, 1862, its light reaches a distance of 27 miles and emits signals due to occultations with a rotating screen device.
It can be accessed in two ways, using the tourist trails from Baracoa and the Cajobabo Maisí beach.
